The show, which pits a team of experienced business executives against a team of young people, was broadcast on Monday 14th May and featured Atif Malik alongside fellow “Big Shots”, DotCom entrepreneur Ian Chamings (founder of www.mixalbum.com) and Tamara Gillan from Marketing Agency, SPF15.

His team (called “The Big Shots”) narrowly beat their worthy opponents on The Bright Sparks team with their funky design for the ultimate chill out chair – complete with lights and sound system.

Property tycoon, hotelier, fashion impresario and now chair designer – is there nothing that Atif Malik can’t do? The multi-millionaire entrepreneur who made his money from a collection of highly successful property companies including Properties Central UK and Lending Point Central UK showed he could turn his hand to pretty much anything during his recent appearance on Beat The Boss, the Children’s BBC version of Dragon’s Den.

Don’t expect the product to be on Atif Malik’s agenda just yet though – he is already well on his way in his latest business venture and recently began his shopping spree of shopping centres with the acquisition of a shopping centre in Wigan with a view to transforming the heart of the city with a shopping experience for the future.

Atif Malik was joined on “The Big Shots” team by DotCom Entrepreneur Ian Chamings and Marketing Director Tamara Gillan. Their brief was to design the ultimate chill out chair and create the must-have furniture piece for the future.

While the opposition team (called The Bright Sparks!) created an extremely funky design covered in leather in the end the winners had to be The Big Shots with their gadget-and-gizmo festooned chair with lights and a built in sound system.

Atif Malik, who has been in business since the age of 11, is one of the youngest property tycoons in the country. A millionaire several times over he’s still only in his early thirties over a range of business interests including several property companies, bars and hotels.

His most recent ventures include the acquisition of a new shopping centre in Wigan with a view to transforming the centre of the city into a futuristic shopping experience.

The show, presented by Saira Khan (runner up in the first series of The Apprentice) is a children’s version of the business ideas show, Dragon’s Den where three young people take on three professional business people in an attempt to beat them at their own game.

Entrepreneur Atif Malik from Lending Point Central UK has helped hundreds of people escape debt and mortgage arrears.

“All our clients were trying to obtain finance,” says Atif Malikin an interview with Manchester Evening News. “So we decided to go into the sub-premium market.”

After creating a fortune from virtually nothing through his shrewd eye for property and an uncanny knack for making the best deal, Atif Malik turned his attention to new areas of the property industry focusing on customers with CCJs and a poor credit history. In 2001, he created Lending Point, a mortgage company aimed at the sub-prime market offering finance for customers who would otherwise find it virtually impossible to get a mortgage.

A fast property sale can often end the misery of debt by giving fast access to cash when it’s needed most – often in as little as seven days. For many people it’s an opportunity to get out of the stress caused by credit difficulties and immediately begin improving their credit rating.

His next step was to create Properties Central UK, one of the leading property buying companies in the UK. Whereas Lending Point Central UK offer mortgages to those with bad credit ratings, Properties Central UK offers an alternative solution to mortgage arrears and bad credit by giving customers instant access to the equity in their homes.
